Fall 2011

Ecclesiastes 3:1 (KJV)

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”

Summer came and went, and the Autumn Leaves have turned and fallen. We have watched Hurricane Irene leave its path of destruction and we have had our first “Nor’easter” with three feet of snow in some places; Thankfully not here.

With all of this going on, Connie and I have decided that it is time for us to retire. We’ve had an amazing twenty-two and a half years of ministry at Hunger Mt. and praise God for His faithfulness. Now we begin the process of transition from old to new.

We are in the process of interviewing prospective applicants as well as reconstructing our basement at church, which was damaged in the spring rains. So we are in a very busy time in a season of transition.

What will we do and where will we go? A great question that at this time has no answer. We know that Father still has a plan and a purpose for our lives and the best is yet to come.

So, how about you? Were you wiped out in the floods from the hurricane? Have you lost employment or going through a time of a broken relationship? Are there health issues or a problem with finances? Be of good cheer!

Whatever is going on in your life or whatever time and season you are in that may look hopeless, please know that God knows and cares. He loves you and if you will put your trust and faith in Him, you will get through this. We all will. We all have to be patient with the process.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (KJV)

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

“May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face shine upon you. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord give you peace.”
