Hunger Mountain Christian Assembly
Values
Our God is a personal God, and therefore He is relational. We also desire HMCA be a place for all to come and participate. If "family" conflicts arise we use these values in our relationships to walk together in Christian love as He perfects us into His image.
Our most important value after our relationship with the Lord is our relationship with each other: "love our neighbor as ourselves." We encourage people not to just come-and-go, but to spend time with others before and after services and during the week. For many, the only kind word or the only hug they receive all week may be from you. It is the Father's desire that "the world may know we are His disciples by how we love one another."
Having been led, as we believe, by God's Spirit , to receive the Lord Jesus Christ into our lives, and having been baptized in His name to the glory of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we in the presence of God agree as an assembly of believers to commit together as one in Christ:
To walk together in Christian love.
To work for the advancement of the body of Christ in knowledge, holiness, and unity.
To support the worship, discipline, and doctrines of this local church.
To give the church a sacred preeminence over all institutions of human origin.
To contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry the relief of the poor, and the spreading of the Gospel locally and throughout all nations.
To diligently instruct and discipline our children in the ways of the Lord.
To walk uprightly in the world in Christian modesty, which will give glory to God.
To maintain a Godly example to the world in areas of recreation and entertainment.
To be honest in our dealings and faithful in our commitments.
To keep away from all gossip, backbiting, and unrighteous anger.
We further commit to watch over one another in brotherly love:
By remembering each other in prayer.
By aiding each other in sickness and distress.
By being not easily offended, but always ready for restoring relationships without delay.
We also agree that when we remove from this place, we will as soon as possible unite with some other church where we can carry the spirit of His commitment and the principles of God's word.
